Recent Speaker Activities
California Geothermal Tribal Workshop
DPC attended the California Geothermal Tribal Workshop in Susanville in June 2006. DPC attended the workshop under the CGEC contract. The objectives were to meet with the Indian tribes and to listen and learn about their goals and objectives for renewable development on reservation land.
CGEC Transmission Workshop
DPC assisted in the development of a CGEC transmission workshop on October 2006. The objectives were to review potential development areas to learn about their potential transmission benefits to the grid, obtain utility input into the development of geothermal and finally obtain input from the developers on the issues surrounding geothermal development.
California Wind Energy Conference, Palm Springs, California
DPC gave an expanded presentation of locating wind resources near transmission congestion as was presented in Arizona.
WindPower 2005, Denver, Colorado
DPC continued to present additional information on the strategic value analysis methodology and the preliminary results of locating high and low speed turbines near transmission congestion.
CPUC Workshop on Renewable Technologies
The CPUC held a two day workshop in San Francisco on renewable technologies and how to integrate resources into the transmission grid. DPC presented preliminary results on transmission congestion relief that could be obtained by locating renewables near transmission congestion areas. Solar Power 2005 Conference
October 6, 2005: Ron Davis has been invited to be a speaker at the Solar Power 2005 Conference and Expo. The title of the presentation is "Strengthening Southern California Transmission Systems with CSP." For more details: http://www.solarpowerconference.com/
Southwest Renewable Energy Conference, Flagstaff, Arizona
In 2004, DPC gave presentations at the SWREC on the strategic value analysis for locating renewable technologies. In particular, we discussed the location of wind sites for improving transmission congestion.
